Supporting Single Parents Through Regional Victoria’s Rental Crisis:
Our Commitment at Sunrise Foundation

At Sunrise Foundation, we are committed to addressing the housing challenges faced by vulnerable individuals, especially single parents like Eve and Jayde, who are struggling to secure stable rental accommodation in regional Victoria. As highlighted in a recent article by The Guardian, single-parent families are often overlooked in the competitive rental market, with landlords prioritising dual-income households over those with children.

We understand that this disparity creates an unjust barrier for single parents who are simply seeking a safe and stable home for their families. At Sunrise, our mission is to promote social inclusion, equal opportunity, and dignity by acquiring and developing properties across both metropolitan and regional areas. By making these homes available for rent or purchase, we provide disadvantaged families with the opportunity to build a secure foundation for their future.

Through our proactive, commercially sustainable programs, we aim to bridge the housing gap, ensuring that families like Eve’s no longer face the instability of moving multiple times in search of a home. We believe that every individual deserves the chance to live with dignity, and we are proud to be at the forefront of creating long-term housing solutions for vulnerable families across Australia.

Over three days, attendees shared valuable insights, forged meaningful connections, and left feeling energised and empowered.

We were thrilled to announce our financial support for the Tessa Jetson Foundation and the launch of the Sunrise Education Fund, which received enthusiastic support from attendees. The conference sparked inspiration and fresh ideas - we can't wait for the next one!
