About Us
Sunrise Foundation Ltd (Sunrise) is a registered charity established for the purpose of addressing homelessness and all disadvantaged people struggling with housing across Australia. Sunrise acquires and develops property across metropolitan and regional areas in Australia, and makes it accessible to a wide range of disadvantaged and vulnerable persons to rent or buy. It applied pro-active commercial intelligence to build commercially sustainable support programs both locally and internationally.

John Walsh
Director
John is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia.
Prior to becoming a Board of Director with Sunrise Foundation, John was the founder and Managing Partner of John Walsh and Partners from 1997-2011.
John Walsh has a strong commitment toward social justice and equality. He also helps support the community serving as a Consultant to a number of legal practices. He continues to practice law as a sole practitioner of a Sydney CBD law practice.
John Batiste
Director / Company Secretary / Adviser
For over 40 years, John has had a stellar career in banking and finance. He is recognised as one of Australia’s Leaders in the areas of real estate and development finance.
As a Sunrise Foundation Director and Company Secretary, John supports and advises a focused and committed external team of seasoned property and finance professionals in order to advance our charitable activities for the betterment of those we seek to serve. John is committed to giving back to society and applying his considerable finance, housing experience and expertise in the not-for-profit space.
Glen-Marie Frost
Director
Glen-Marie Frost’s role as Ambassador at Sunrise Foundation is exemplified with her wealth of knowledge and experience across multiple disciplines and a large variety of industries.
For over four decades, Glen-Marie’s community involvement in fundraising has seen her raise millions of dollars in support of a range of causes including Sydney Children’s Hospital, Mental Health of Australia, The Sydney Theatre Company, Odyssey House, Ted Noffs Foundation, Garvan Institute of Medical Research; and many more.
Her strong social and political connections help Sunrise get its message to the people who can help effect necessary policy change.
In addition, Glen-Marie is a loud voice and strong advocator of those over 55 affected by homelessness. She is a maverick to The Equanimity Project Australia.
Marie Barclay
Support Manager
Marie is a support adviser to Sunrise Foundation and two other non-for-profit organisations. Having worked across a myriad of industries including NDIS community support work and heading two businesses (real estate and coaching/consulting), she understands and empathises with others with real commitment and passion.
Marie is passionate about helping those who are vulnerable in our community, especially in the NDIS and DFV space. She approaches all matters with an ‘everything is figure-outable’ mindset.
